Ignition problem or dying battery?

Recently, every time I turn the key to start the car, it sounds like it's about to start but doesn't. I'm going to take it in but maybe it's something that can be avoided? For example, a dying battery can be replaced. Thanks.

It could be the crankshaft sensor malfunctioned. It happened to me 5 days after I got my car, thought it was battery but found out it wasn't. Its no biggie they just replaced the part easily, it was a factory defect.
