Put on CLK grill

But now when I pop my hood the plastic peice that pops out, doesnt pop out, it hits my grill and gets stuck behind it...

I guess im a bit confused because it was a perfect fitment.

any ideas? or do I just live with it?

thanks in advance..

PS- I got it for free.. I wouldnt pay for it. My buddy had it on his E55.. and sold the car, and had it layin around in his garage.

You'll have to trim one side of your hood latch.

The fact that it doesn't fit is a sign from above telling you that the stock grill looks better. Told you not to do it!

You can either file it, or cut it off. Your latch should have a flare on each side where it comes out of the grille. You'll have to modify one side so that it'll come through the hole.

If your buddy had it on his e55, there shouldn't be any adjustments necessary. It should be the same fit. Then again, ask you buddy how it was installed on his e55.

Just to clarify though, this is a "CLS" grille, as opposed to a "CL" style grille, right? The "CL" style fits without modification. If, however, you've actually taken the grille off of a CLS... then I dunno..

Edit: After reading more carefully, the original post says "CL(K)", not "CL(S)"; I stand my ground though.
