Tire advice

I just got some I-Forged Daytonas 19x8.5 and 19x 10. What brand tires would you recommend? D2 has recommended against PS2's because they run overspec. What would you pick: Toyo T1R, Mich PS2's, P Zero,???

Thanks

Nice set of rims.. I would suggest going with either ps2 or toyo. I have never had any toyo tires bit I hear they are good. The only negative thing I have heard about the T1R is when they are new they are very very slippery and you need 500-1000 miles to break them in. Personally I think Michelin makes some of the best tires, but I have yet to try out toyo. I think either T1R or PS2 will be great tires. I cant say anything about Pzero tires since I do not know so hopefully someone else will know about them.

I've had Toyo Proxes 4 all-season tires on my car for about a year. Those are, of course, not the same as Proxes T1R tires, which I gather are summer tires. FWIW, my Toyos replaced the OEM Continentals, and compared to the Contis, the Toyos are much better in handling, moderately better in ride quality, and about the same in noise. It's too early to compare wear rates. I'm satisfied with the Toyos, although the Contis are a poor baseline for comparison - almost anything would be an improvement on them.

Thanks

Thanks for the advice..The Toyo's are on back order.. And I'm told that there are rubbing issues with PS2's on iForged rims.. At some point I'm going to have to bite the bullet. It seems like alot of people have used PS2 with no issues on aftermarket 19 inch rims..

I'm running the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S

I've had PS2's in the past and they were great but given the fact that I don't need "ultimate performance" out of this car...the A/S is a good comprimise...I get better mileage out of them and as stupid as this sounds I like the way they look a lot better than the PS2...

I run PS2's, and love them. I also don't have any rubbing issues, and my car is lowered. What tire sizes are you planning on running? 245/35 is standard. You shouldn't rub as long as your offset is correct.

Tire size

I am planning on running 245/35 up front and 175/30. 19x8.5 and 19x10. I agree with you, the PS2 would probably fit but I didn't want to take a chance. I finally ordered a set of Eagle F1GS-D3 just to try something different. They are on sale at Tirerack and come highly recommended.. (Car and Driver 12/05) Thanks for everyones help...
