A Nice Surprise.

Was driving with the windows & roof open & was screaming "Track 10" to the CD player which couldn't understand me becaise of all the outside wind noise, so I tried " *10 " and couldn't believe it changed to track 10. OK. Nice trick. Rock On.

I thought I was going to read that your dealer swapped out your 04 for a 07 – given your past posts.

Voice Control responds to the word "asterisk"? Or "star"?

2.5 Years and now you figure it out? You really should have read your manual a long time ago.

Dudes... You think I like having to personally remove all the problems in my car & help the dealer fix them? Don't get me wrong, I love the car... when everything's working in it... all at the same time, not in some kind of random "this feature is working right this week, but that one's inoperative untill next week. If I hated the car I'd have been out of it by now. I haven't kept any of my cars ( '98 Tahoe, 2000 Caddy Deville, 2002 DHS,) once I fell out of love with them, and they were purchases, not leases, so I know how to take a financial beating... and so far I still love this car... when everything is working.

..and no, my discovery was not in saying the words "Asterick one zero" but in pressing that button sequence. ( * 10) Usually I am listening to Sirius and make all of my channel & application changes by speaking the voice comand. Since I have VCS in the car I rarely press any key strokes. Today, however all the windows were open and the system couldn't understand my voice comands due to all the wind noise, so I tried the key strokes.

Read my manual? I still refer to the manuals... all 6 inches thick of them! It all depends on which features get used by the operator, and how often they are used that determine whether or not you will remember that they even exist.

Finally, I wouldn't want to swap for an '07 if it cost me even 1 dollar. You think MB has replaced design flaws/suppliers of all the tiny electronic parts that crap out on my '04? Maybe on the next new design E class... MB has learned how to fix these problems faster & fix them right the first time, but the little "gremlins" are all still in the cars, waiting to annoy owners. If I'm wrong, JD powers will have MB zoom up to at least the top 5-7 by the end of the year '07. We'll see.

...and dudes, I mean Little Gremlins, not SBC.

Barry, lighten up I think I speak for everyone in saying we all know we’re you’re coming, as you said it so many times in so many different ways. It was a joke (the 07)

Doing great, riding season is here and I'm getting some serious road time in. The kids are getting older and taking more of my time too. Been doing more lurking than posting lately, but still love to be here dispite all the negitivity. Is this thing on????? Bring it buddy, you know I'm always ready to stir it up the **** here.

B.T.W..... 35,000 miles and the car still rides like new. Quite impressive dispite the 11 miles of twisties down to the valley floor everyday. Absolutley no problems and still fun to drive. Have to say, that CLS is looking better and better to me everyday. Hope yours is treating you right. later.
