Too Good to be True or Fair Price?

Although I've yet to see it, non-MB dealer has a silver '04 E320 wagon with 20K, full leather, dynamic drive/vent seats, heated seats, sun roof, HK premium sound, nav., wood wheel, and clear Carfax. Newspaper ad price: $32,900.

Isn't this getting close to auction price?

Can anyone give me fuel economy experience?

Thanks.

What do you mean by a clear Carfax? Is it a one owner car who bought it for private use or is it a car that's been leased and sold at auction? Is it a local car? Has it had more than one owner? Has it been registered to a business?

I've taken two long 5K vacations in my 2004 E320 and averaged about 27 MPG for the trips. I've let the computer run when I've been home and averaged about 19 MPG for urban driving over a six month period. A wagon would probably average a bit less.

Original owner, personal use, no lease, local purchase.

You'll seldom find one of these on a dealer's lot. They go to their preferred customers. A lot of the cars on dealer's lots are lease cars bought at auction.

I would not put too much stock in a Carfax. Not everyone reports all the stuff. They only know whats been told to them. If the dealer is a used car only dealer it came from an auction or wholesaler. If it was traded on a new car was it at the dealer thats selling it?? If it was traded at an MB dealer they would certainly keep it in their inventory unless there are some problems or history that is known to them. Have you gotten a service record from MB?? Whats the status of the warranty?? Is there much factory warranty remaining?? Do your homework if you intend to purchase.

Sold before I responded! And it had xenons too . . . local MB said no issues other than recalls and defective support strutts for the hatch.
