Pilot Sport A/S Tire Question
Howdy, some time back, MB issued a TSB regarding the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S as "non-approved" due to a tracking to the right issue. Would like to know how many of you went ahead and purchased the Pilot Sport AS and what your opinion/experiences have been with them (ride comfort, handling, noise, snow/ice traction etc.). I need new rubber on my 4matic E500 and they need to be in an all-season flavor for my neck of the woods. Thanks............... Bill

This information is true some time back in 2004. I think Michelin has made some changes since then and now you can use the A/S. I have used A/S on my Acura and currently Infiniti, G35. They are great tires in dry, wet, and snow, very quiet too. Check with Tire Rack to make sure for your 211.

I have the A/S on my MY04 coupe - 5,000+ miles so far and they are outstanding - no tracking problems.
I will keep them on 'till Dec 1st when I change to my Dunlop Winter Sport M3s.
Winter in Jersey isn't as bad as where you are - well maybe with the crazy drivers!

Has long-since been resolved with US-Spec builds on their tires coming to the USA.
Was a road-crown issue (differing between USA and Europe) if I remember correctly....

Thanks all, these are some of the answers I've been looking for. The stock conti's made it through two Montana winters with no problems so I assume the Michelin A/S will be just as satisfactory.
