Question Money Factor and Residual

What is a good money factor and a residual value for 2003 E 320 and 500? Would someone post the best numbers for leasing the E class please.

Thank You

I have the same questions. Can somebody post the residual after the usual lease terms of 24, 36, 42 and 48 months.

Usually, one disadvantage of leasing, particularly if you are contemplating purchasing the car at the end of the lease, is that the buy out price is calculated as a percentage of STICKER. Most cars can be obtained at least a few thousand dollars below sticker so you end up losing that negotiated discount on whatever percentage remains. With these cars everything is sticker so that isn't an issue. Also, if you pay over time, I think you pay the luxury tax as you go and since that is going to be phased out 1/1/03 you can probably save most of that as well.

Answers and advice appreciated.

Barney I may be wrong but if you are taking delivery of your car before 01/01/2003 you will be paying the entire luxury tax. Can anyone confirm this.

I hear the residual for the 2003 CLK is 68% but I would like to find out what is the best residual value that you can get from your dealer and what is the best money factor.

Thank you again

I believe that until 1/1/03, the lux tax is 3% on the purchase price exceeding $38K.

69% is what I heard on a 36 month

I visited an MB dealership in Manhattan yesterday and the residual was 69% on a three year. Residual is the same for both the 320 and 500.

I heard on this forum that the Gas Guzzler tax is done at year end but I can't find any data on the web to confirm. Is this true for sure?

I did some research and I can't find anything that says the gas guzzler tax is going away. I even looked at the actual code and it doesn't mention any kind of expiration date. As I said in an earlier post, if it was going away in January, I would think there would be notices all over the place with just 4 months to go. I think it is a rumor. The lux tax however is going away in January.
