COMAND US and Euro Part Numbers

COMAND US and Euro Part Numbers
Hello fellow MB Enthusiasts,
I have an earlier US version of W211 E500 that came with CD/Cassette player. I would like to upgrade the head unit and get COMAND. Could anyone help me with identifying the right part number for US and Euro COMAND units? I would prefer to get the Euro version since I may be able to play MP3 and DVDs with it. I’ve seen COMAND units selling on E-Bay and want to make sure that I am buying the one that would work with my car.
Also, there seem to be at least three people on E-Bay selling COMAND units from Lithuania. Has anyone had any luck with those people? Their rating seems to be very high and I assume people have been happy with their products.
Are there any particular things I should be looking for in a COMAND unit? Can all Euro COMAND play MP3 and DVDs? Or would I have to pay extra for enabling these features?
Finally, would anyone know if such COMAND unit can be simply plugged into my car in place where my current unit used to be? Or would I have to do extra programming and add other electronic components to enable COMAND in my car?
