Talking 2006 E55 bumper question

Hi all,
Will a 2006 E55 bumper fit on my 2006 E350? It look like it would without issues but there are two triangles on the front between the headlights that I don't have on my stock bumper. Also, will my stock trim fit the E55 bumper. I know I need to get the mess screen for the bottom and the fog lights as well... not sure where to get the fog lights with screens. I am looking to make my E350 into the sport verison....

I have someone at a body shop that can help with the painting part... just not sure about the fitment and molding pieces...

THANKS,
Anthony

That is for the headlamp washers which your car does not have.

I Installed The AMG E55 Bumpers/Skirts and Quad Exhaust on my 2006 W211
They fit perfect!..Also Added the Large Brakes and AMG 19s to complete the look As long as You use ALL OE MB Pars everything will fit!

The triangle-shaped headlamp washers pop out from the bumper when you activate them. They are part of the factory installed Xenon Lighting Package. Ask your body shop friend if they can fill the holes before they paint the bumper to match your car.

Can I get the washer cover somewhere... maybe "molded" in? That is are really big hole to glass...

Body shops can order replacement parts. I don't know how they would secure the cover in the hole, since the part the cover attaches to (washer mechanism) doesn't exist on your car.

edit: See post #12 below

Mostly like just get the holes filled in then. Bigger question... Is the E55 molding different than E350 front bumper? Will mine transfer?

Yes I installed the COMPLETE set front / rear bumpers and side skirts...

Re the Bumper with headlight washers ..I Would leave it alone..as You might want to add the H/L washers later?

The Bumper Impact Inserts are the SAME so Yes they can be reused..But the AMG E55 bumper uses different fogs/grills

This is NOT Correct..The Front Bumpers with Headlight washers use a Cover that is Hinged to the BUMPER NOT to the Headlight washer...as the Headlight Washer Pops Up when in use

I purchase mine from local dealer and they are also painted .

You will also need a e55 bumper bracket ( platic thingy's that attach to the inside of the bumper) unless your stock e55 bumper came with it .

Thanks for the correction. So the covers will not be a problem even though there are no washers beneath them. Anthony, I hope you see this post.

No Problem Using a Front AMG E55 Bumper WITH Headlight washers...Even IF NO Washers are Used..as The Front Bumper on Our 2006 W211 has the Headlight washer Bumper..But The Car does NOT have the headlight washers ...yet.....as The Headlight washer cover IS Hinged to the Bumper NOT the washer assy

SWEEEEEEEEEEEEET!

I can use my original bumper molding
I can just get the wiper covers in Pewter
I guess I need a bumper bracket for E55??
I guess my car is going to look wicked... to me anyway.

Hey MARK... how about some pics of the conversion?

Anyone have info on side skirts? Rear bumper? Need anything special here?

THX

both are simple bolt on...your only challenge will be the exhaust / it's nearly impossible to adapt the stock mufflers to work with tips that will look right with either the amg/sport (provision for dual singles) or the amg/e55 (provision for dual dual tipped exhaust)...your best bet will be to find aftermarket or oem replacement mufflers with the correct fit (and tips) / it will be easier to find dual duals (e55 style) vs dual singles...this because the latter is much more rare vs. the former

Bumper foam? Can it be purchase seperately? I can get my hands on a E55 front bumper relatively cheap... under $200. Just trying to understand what is will take to do this... It seems easy enough... THANKS for all the help so far!!!!

The Bumper foam is in several pieces and goes behind the bumper reinforcement
on both front and rear bumpers..and It IS different from a Non AMG bumper
You can buy them from the dealer
