For those that took delivery of the E550, what type material and color is the headliner. I was not a fan of the light gray material in my C55. I was hoping for a darker color and some suede-type material.

 

Just got the brochure from MB. Too bad Alcantara headliner is not an option on E550 unless you opt for one of two Designo editions.

 

Speak to the sales manager of your dealership (or any dealership) about placing a special order if applicable. Currently E-Class special order interior/exterior colors ($1150) and upholstery ($1540) is readily available.

 

What is Alcantara?

 

It's that microfiber stuff that looks like suede leather, but is synthetic.

 

By "microfiber", if you mean that stuff that catches every little rough spot (e.g. hangnail, etc), when you run your hand across it or anything else touches it ... like what was in my C55, ... I really hate that!

 

If you have been in a furniture store and seen the recliners and sofas covered in "UltraSuede", it is exactly the same stuff.

 

Can you post the codes? I have a friend that was able to order portions of the Designo group and a few other options that are not on the MBUSA build site. The sales manager may know about it but MOST salesmen claim complete ignorance on these options. I am hoping to order a G500 and I want it EXACTLY as I like it if I am going to wait so long for it.

Is there anywhere to get a build sheet? My sales manager is supposed to be faxing me his screen for an E, an S, and a G but he says he has no paper sheet.
