Child Safety locks on 2006 E350

Can anybody tell me where the child safety locks are on the rear 2 doors. I have looked all over the door panels and inside the door and have had no luck finding it. Is this just a MB feature that no child will ever figure out how to open a door in the back seat?

There are none!

The rear doors can't be opened from the inside as long as the car is locked. Just be sure that you set the car to automatically lock the doors when you drive off.

Sorry, I got too excited and made a new thread before doing my searches. I'm going to have to somehow jump in the rear while the car is moving and try to open the doors and jump out. I'll do it near a cliff so to not cause any accidents.

The car doesn't have to be moving. Once the car is locked, the rear doors won't open from inside until you either open a front door OR press the unlock button on the dash. You can test this in your garage or driveway.

Ponder this:

How is child proof locking addressed by MBUSA? That is to say there are no latches to activate/deactivate on the rear door frames. Therefore, shall I assume the drive away locking feature suffices whereas the rear doors cannot be opened unless the driver or front passenger unlocks them via the central locking/unlocking button? And if this is the case, what if the rear doors are unlocked by either the driver or front passenger while the vehicle is parked (i.e.: service lane on a freeway) by the central button for some reason, what is to stop a child from opening either rear door and exiting the vehicle?

BTW no answer from MBUSA corporate (or legal) to date

Don’t buy it, MBUSA should install the childproof locks same as other countries get.

Also you can lock the rear windows on your door, above the window switches.
