E-class wagon
Does anybody have one of these here? It seems like wagon's are rediculed in the united states but are quite popular. Is there any reason for this? I like the wagon's because they hold a good amount of stuff, and I heard they have good handling.

I Have a W210 Estate..And I Love it! Yes The European market is strong on Estates instead of SUVs as the wagon drives just like a sedan!

I have a 2005 E500 wagon, and I love it. I hate SUV's but need a third row for the kids. I have a trailer hitch for my jetski and bike rack and a Yakima ski box for extra cargo space. The car is awesome!

We have a lot of wagons, and much prefer them to SUV's. Unfortunately we have to keep the SUV around to tow the boat and haul the whole family (6 people). In our experience the awd wagons handle better in nearly all conditions than SUVs, and get a lot better gas mileage, not to mention that they are a lot more fun to drive. My advice is to buy a car that you like, and not worry about what others think. If you like the S211, get it and don't worry about other peoples opinion.

I went through a lot of crap as well with people telling me they didn't like the wagon, but so far this has got to be my favorite car. It drives well, and I like the way it looks. I had an Acura MDX and I just am not an SUV person. I also had a MB C230 before this wagon and although it was fun, I still like the way the wagon drives better. A lot of people don't even know that Mercedes makes a wagon.

I sold my X5 when I got my E500 4Matic wagon, and have not regretted the decision. Had a 6k mile road trip this summer in the car, and it was a great driving experience.
Many friends thought I was nuts when I went from the X5 to the W211, but I'm very happy with having a car to drive again, that can haul around a lot of stuff, and go to the mountains to ski in the winter without needing chains.

My wife is delighted with her E500 Wagon. She says she never wants another car. It is smooth, powerful, roomy, quiet and stylish. It has got the lot for a family car. (get the power tailgate - a great feature).
