I assume you just got the car. If you don't have the owner's manual, you can read it online. Go to mbusa.com and then register your vehicle at the Owners Online section of the site. If you do have the manual, it is worth the time it takes to read through. These are very complex cars.
The C/S button changes the behavior of the transmission. "C" will start out in second gear and shift at lower RPMs, while "S" will start in first gear and rev up a little higher. Comfort/Sport
The car will make strange noises related to the SBC braking system. Believe it or not, that is normal. You will get used to it. If you have Drive Dynamic seats or Airmatic suspension they will also make weird sounds.

W/S is the same thing. Consider W for winter and starting in second gear for more traction, S for summer, giving you a first gear start. Use S unless its snowy and icy. As far as SBC this is the "brake by wire" system and is used in the W211 and a few other models. If you do not have a W211 or one of the others forget it you do not have it.

Don't worry about the pre-braking, that is the SBC system pre-pressing the brake pads to the rotor in anticipation of your braking. It is supposed to give faster reaction to you braking in an emergency (eliminating that half-second or so of the car realizing that you need to brake instead of accelerate.)
