The distortion noise is especially detected when listening to music or voice with high pitch on a telephone conversation or a news broadcast. Felt strips and foam insulation will be installed to the housing of the center vent and/or the cover and center fill speaker.

No, since specific VIN ranges and individual repair procedures for relevant models are specified. The dealer should be cooperative however, if not request that your local MBUSA Service Parts & Operations Manager (SPOM) approve repair(s). BTW, it is not a manufacturer’s recall but rather a star bulletin released to dealers.
