2006 e350 and my car has not got the phone system installed.

has anyone done a d.i.y on this install? i have done some searches and hope someone has either done it or has access to the kit part info......should be simple install....thanks

Since next year a New a New Law is NO More hand held phones to be used by the drivers...(ABOUT TIME)

Yes The Wifes W211 was delivered without a Phone....MBENZNL installed the Bluetooth and the Voice Activation kit They Work Great!

 

I haven't heard of this new law. Is it a California law or a federal law covering the entire United States?
Several states already ban hand held cell phone use while driving.

 

Its a California State Law that will go into Force Next Year ...(It should Be a Federal law)

 

How much was it to install the Bluetooth and voice activation? I have a 2004 E320, can it be done on this car?

Actually I think it goes into effect on July 1, 2008, but hands free is a good idea in any event. Hope the install goes well!

I had Steve add MHI and the bluetooth adapter. Sadly I didn't get Voice control as I didn't know about it. Neither is cheap. But the results are excellent, the integration is tight and well done.

I wouldn't try to do it yourself. At the very least you can't finish the job because you need the benz software & cable to re-configure COMAND. Steve has all the equipment and know how.
