How Long to Order What You Want

Has anyone ordered from the factory thru a dealer? After looking in Okla. City, Tulsa Ok, and Park Place Dallas TX, unless I decide on white, black or silver, I am going to need to order. Add in trying to find P2, parktronic, and side blinds, and forget it!

I am thinking on a E550, Sport Package, P2, Bluetooth, Ipod Integration, Side Blinds, Parktronic, Platnium Blue or Granite Gray. I have never ordered before, and am very concerned about 1)the price and 2) the time.

Any experiences?

They can search Netstar to see what is close to your wishes, what build slot is open, etc. Search the forum using Netstar as your beginning and go from there. Other than that you might try our sponsors.

I've sent much business to Hoehn, so I like them (or did before the General Sales Manager left). Where you able to get a build sheet or did you just order same options as on MBUSA?

benzinok: Most MB take about 90 days to build and deliver. US cars - R, GL and M around 60 days.

PM or call me if you have any other questions.

Thanks,

Having a dealer check Netstar for a potential build slot is a worthwhile endeavor.

And like Vadim says, you're looking at 2-3 months on an order.

I am a firm believer in ordering - and therefore getting -exactly what you want. The time goes by quickly enough.

90 Days is no big deal for me, and can get exactly what I am looking for. Thanks for all the tips.

remember by ordering you can also do Custom ordering for a little extra... any color combo you would like...

before the build spot, check Netstar... when I searched for my E, I found what I wanted... in Southern California, Chicago, Cherry Hill NJ and the car I finally ended up with in Sarasota, FL- an alabaster white with pano roof, stone interior, sport, trunk closer, wood wheel, lighting package... Never have I recieved so many complements on a car

you may pay a premium on shipping but youll get what you want sooner then 3months

You might also want to look at Euro delivery. We did this in '04, and it was a fantastic experience!

I ordered my car and took about 3 months to get... If time is not an issue, then I highly suggest ordering it with the exact color combo and options you want... Its well worth the wait. If its not exactly the way you want it you'll be kicking yourself everytime you get in the car.
Good luck with your purchase.

I did take a hard look at this, but with a 2 and 7 year old, it's just not in the cards. That would be a blast though.

I'm going to have Netstar checked out and see what is out there. If it does not have what I am looking for, I'll order.

I came so close to driving off a Black on Black that was close (everything I wanted except parktronic). But I took one look at the wifes Black Navigator and remembered why I said no black cars ever again. Best looking color on a car IMHO....right after you wash it. Give the Oklahoma wind an hour or so and it takes care of that.

Before you order Parktronic (I have it on my '04) test park a car, and see if it works like you expect it to. For my taste, it seems that it lets you get too close to an object before it even lights up the first bulb, and then it comes on loud & strong at the very end, when you are real close. The net result for me is that you have to crawl up to an object slowly to be warned properly... I don't think it looks far enough fore and aft when you are usuing it.

I understand that they might have changed it for the '06 model year, but test it out 1st.

I have to make a jog right into detached garage past the gate. The kids love to keep things out in the drive, and there is a retaining wall on the left of our driveway. It is more for at home than parking. But I will check it out, thanks for the heads up. I am due another test drive anyways (check the post 7 on an 07). I'm put doubt in my head that probably does not need to be there.
