E550 Air filter removal

A good friend of mine just purchased a new E550. I have convinced him to install Green Air Filters but he can't figure out how to get the filter box open.

Any suggestions?

On my C32, I have a few torx screws securing the two pieces of the box together, but he does not.

I have the E500 and I had to ask the dealer to show me, imagine a simple thing like this! I think the E550 is similar. You pop out the front small portion, disconnect the 2 duct hoses to the cleaner unit and just grab by the two ducts and pull it out. It's that simple for my E500, no screws involved. Hope the E550 is the same way.

If it's like my E320, you don't need tools to remove the engine cover but when you flip the cover over you will see that you'll need a Torx screwdriver to get to the air filters in the engine cover. I've forgotten what size you need.

20+ to list......
You wouldn't need any tools but a tiny flat blade screw driver to pop the clip in the back off, it's a silver piece, sits right in front of the firewall, that holds the airbox tight against the throttle body tube.
