Steering noise after D service
I have looked at the threads pertaining to steering noises on cold engine start up. I have a similar noise that just started straight out of D service. any connection? Noise goes away after acouple of turns down the street, and sounds like a pump topping up the system. New noise never had before car is an 03 and has 25000 miles. Whats is maintenance is included in a D service.

Check your power steering fluid level. I had the same thing in the mornings. Dealer says they have a small resevior, & topped it of. Noise gone. I would like to have found out why it needed the fluid. (Where did it go? Its supposed to be a sealed system.)

Possibility:
DTB P-B-46.30/40 APR06 Flow Noises from Area of Power Steering Pump and/or Foaming of Power Steering Oil in Reservoir. Improper procedure followed for filling and bleeding of the power steering fluid into the system. It is necessary to turn the steering to full lock to lock at least 30 times before starting the engine. If this is not done prior to starting engine, there is a high risk of air entering the steering system. Starting the engine prior to bleeding can cause irreparable damage to the power steering pump and will cause an air cushion to form in the steering gear which causes noise.

Easy. Turn the key clockwise gently as far as possible WITHOUT starting the car. All lights in dashboard will light up and will stay on. Remember, that once you put the key in, it unlocks steering lock. Try turning even in this position. Of course sagnificat effort will be needed as there is no power assist at this time -and it needs to be done over 30times lock to lock! It realy should be done with car suspended in the air I presume.
