Herr Schremp engineered a takeover of Chrysler Corporation by Daimler-Benz, but disguised it as a merger. The Chrysler unit can't be blamed for any problems with Mercedes, unless you theorize that if Daimler-Benz management hadn't been preoccupied with the mess at Chrysler Corporation during the 1998-2003 period, they could have done more to maintain standards at Daimler-Benz.
