Low Noise Summer Tires for New Alloys
I bought a 2003 Benz E500 Sedan Standard in Sept 05 and replaced the 17" Continental OEM tires 245/45-17 with a set of Pirelli PZero Nero M&S last January. They're smooth riding but a little noisy. I'm planning on getting a new set of AMG 5 spoke 230 18" alloys from TireRack after the winter. What tire recommendations does anyone have for a good quality, not ultra performance, low noise summer tire for the new 18" alloys I'll be buying. New tire size will be 245/40-18. I'm more interested in a good ride and low noise rather than high performance. Maybe Bridgestone?

I believe that the Yokohama AVS db2 are rated one of the quietest summer tires available.
Post this question in the wheels and tire forum and I bet Luke from Tirerack will chime in.

Ask Tire rack, they'll be able to tell you the quietest set of tires. I have a set of P-zero's and I found them to be very quiet.
