I decided to make a third attempt at vinyl wrapping my roof (due to clearcoat failure) First attempt the vinyl caught a gust of wind and stuck together badly, Second attempt, I bought a different vinyl wrap, and it was too thin for me, because i tore the crap out of it. This time, I figured out that I needed a heat gun to install it (duh) I have a couple bubbles in the back, and when I was 3/4 finished I tore the front section trying to reposition it getting a fold out, and I tore it. I decided to go ahead and finish the install for practice, and also because even with a tear and a couple bubbles, it looks better than my paint on the roof. I think I can still work the air out the back edge when I feel like attacking it again. The fit around the sunroof was a pain, as I didn't want to ruin the seal, but anything I tried use to slip the vinyl in behind the seal was thin enough to want to tear it. at 40.00 per sheet for the vinyl, or 500.00 quoted to me for it to be professionally done, I can screw it up a couple more times and still be way ahead.
Installed most of my Designo Sand interior today. The door panels will come later. Started gently snowing outside while I was working, so I'll wait for warm(er) weather to actually run wiring and switches for the heated rear seats.
TO EACH HIS OWN BUT I JUST THREW UP IN MY MOUTH A BIT
Not sure I feel the CF wrap on the roof. If you are doing it again why not go with piano black? From how the sun hits the roof and the pattern it just looks off. Almost like the roof is already sun bleached compared to the rest of the car. Have you thought about taking the car to a shop so they can re-clear the roof? If the paint is fine and only the clear coat is failing that shouldn't be hard at all for a body shop to take care of and it shouldn't be too expensive.
Hello to all. I've been been just browsing these threads since i bought my first MB last year, an 07 E-350 4-Matic.
Decided to pull the trigger and join the community.
I've added some minor enhancements since purchasing this. Will share more recent pictures when the weather permits.
This is my newly acquired mint S211 220 CDI from 2004. I work as a Mercedes mechanic and this is my first Mercedes. Also this is my first post on MBworld =)

Speaking of wagons, the owner of the indy shop my friend works at just picked up this E500 wagon with about 130k on it for $2,000 (sorry for the terrible picture). Needs some work, but is a fine driver as it is. I can't wait him to retire and my friend to take over so I can get in on these deals. Some people just don't want to deal with selling a car and don't need the money from it.

These wagons are a smoking deal right now. Everyone's gone SUV crazy and nobody wants to touch these anymore.
3 different sets of wheels on my wagon. It came with these hideous chromed things from the previous owner.
My bridgestone blizzaks on W140 8 hole wheels.
Then finally switched to stock E320 16" wheels +summer Michelins which ride so much better than those awful 17"s.
Teee heee

Slow down a second ...The chrome types are stock, seems like they were dipped, and 8 hole are off w210 correct? I've seen them on the w 210s years ago, and I must say they are becoming.
I believe I was bitten by the wagon bug when the Honda accord came out with it, and I made it a love of getting a wagon. Ultimately I will get the E55 wagon, but at a good price. So what have we learned today boys and girls? Wagons are cool. Lol. keep griding jack.
2MERKS
The aftermarket chrome on the 17" is chipped, cracked and peeling off. Also I hate chrome so they had to go. The 8 hole wheels are off a W140, not W210. W210 wheels don't fit on a W211 because the mounting bolts holes are too small. I found those wheels with snow tires last August for $60 and so far I've had them on all 3 of my benzes. They are brilliant for snow trips. Both sets of 16" wheels ride much better than the 17".

W140 lol I'm wayy off, tks for the history lessons...lol The chrome wheels once they peel forget about it! For the 17in, did you feel like you couldn't control the car? Steerling felt loose?
