DVD NAV System with 3-D Map Perspective

Has anyone heard that the new DVD Nav system will have a 3-D map perspective similar to the nav system in the Infiniti cars.

I believe Infiniti call it "Bird's-Eye-View".

I don't think the dealer was saying that it is the same system as Infiniti buy only that the display will have 3-d capability as well as the more traditional display of maps.

I am getting closer to ordering an E500 and I would like to order the DVD NAV system, but it would be nice to know what I am buying first!

The second issue is in Canada the can not even confirm that the system can be installed at the dealer after arrival if it is not installed at the factory.

It would be bad if I ordered a car it arrived with no DVD Nav and then could not be added later!

DVD Nav to debut in March and will be retrofit in all '03 E classes. You can even order it now and dealer will waive installation charge later and MBZ will prorate the number of months you had the car w/o it. That's what I have read - it's kinda hush-hush-dealers not pushing that plan to customers - hard to sell something to be installed later or buyer may change their mind and demand refund, etc. Potential headache for all involved . Anyone confirm that ?
