E500 Pickup at Sindelfingen

I'm leaving Wednesday for Sindelfingen to pick up an E500. This is my 15th
time picking up cars at the factory and I'm looking forward to it as much as
ever. I feel every MB fan should pick up a car at the factory at least once.
The savings arent there anymore like the times when there was a good
discount and once they even gave free round trip air tickets. If you plan
to tour Europe, nothing beats driving your new MB. Be sure to take
advantage of the factory tour followed by lunch at the factory. You will be
impressed with the delivery center. You get 2 nights for free hotels. Pick
hotels like the Interalpen in Austria which is my favorite. It is truly first
class and includes a gourmet dinner each night.
I will file a full report when I return the first week of October.

Alps Rally Package

Last month just came back from my 3rd visit to Sindelfingen's European Delivery Center. First time to try the Alps Rally Package and would strongly recommend it. Agree with you that the Interalpen Hotel in Austria is a must visit. Make sure you take the mountain route over the Arlberg pass rather than going through the tunnel though - it is worth the view even though it adds time to the travel and is a little scarry during a heavy rainstorm.
