Alex,
If you have your warranty via Martin at ADS then email him (contact me via PM if you need his email address) and ask him to give you the instructions. I asked him to set mine up for working with any region and to set the system up to play the DVD or TV when the car was in drive, he did it no problem.

I'll contact him later, I hope the instruction to setup the work is not hard.

Press and hold [mute] + [end] + [serv] for about 8 seconds, or until the "Engineering Menu" appears.
Once there press and hold [#],[*], [left arrow] (in that order), until you see three italicised options on the right side of the COMAND.
I believe the first option controls DVD in Motion, the second, the region code, and the third, uh, I forget what the third does.
Hope that works for ya.

This is how I do it for my Euro COMAND unit:
Engine does not need to be on to do this. I put my car in the key position just before starting the car (accessory, I believe). Next wait for your COMAND to finish getting past the mercedes spalsh screen. I usually go to radio to start, but I think you can get to the engineering menu from any screen.
Next, press down mute and then while still holding mute down, quickly press and hold both phone down and SERV. Hold all three buttons for about 8 seconds and the engineering menu will appear.
Next, press down both the * button and the # button on the dialpad on the right side of your command and then while still holding those buttons down, quickly press and hold the left arrow. Hold all three buttons for about 8 seconds and the three additional menu items will appear in italics on the right side of the menu.
Select the options that you want to change in each of the menus. Changes should take effect immediately, but you may want to power off your car and restart it after a minute or two just to make sure.
Hope this helps.
