E35 - AMG in US?

Saw an E35 today in Dallas, had the AMG "Logo" on it as well. Does this exist or just cosmetic?

Tried to take a picture from my camera phone - did not come our clear enough ....

The "0" from his "E350" emblem is probably up on ebay by now.

SushDawg, sorry to change the subject but do you know if there are MB gatherings in the Dallas area? I live in Plano.

Also I spotted a gentleman driving the most beautifull E500 that I have ever seen. Spoke with him at 7 eleven in Plano. The color was pewter and had custom wheels. Said he lived in Frisco near you. Cant remember the gentlmens name.

Did not mean to get into a bashing of the guy who had it. It's their car, let them do as they please .... Was wondering if such a version existed, I assume no based on the responses.

Nickel: Not aware of any groups or meetings. I belive there is a MB club in the Dallas area, but time would not permit me to be invloved in anything like that. I live up in the Frisco area, Main\Teel area to be exact and btw, I do avoid Ewing and take my car all the way to Park Place.

Why do you avoid Ewing? I was within a half inch of signing my deal at Park Place. They changed the deal a few dollars in their favor. I told Park I was going to buy my 07 E Saks Edtion The net day at Ewing and their attitude was like good luck see ya later. The next day I bought a new 07 E Saks at Ewing.

On a side note my salesman told me he was the number one salesman at Ewing for a few years now (he only told me after I asked him who was number one) He said he sells around 14 new MBs per month. Anyone have a clue how much a MB salesman earns selling 14 car per month?

Not sure how to diffrentiate a SAK's car.

He did come the Tollway and take Mockingbird, before pulling a hard-left behind the Home Depot, heading towards Park Place.

Why? It's his car. He paid for it. You do not make him happy... maybe his "altered" badging does. The orginal question was asking if such a model exists, not if this driver should be ridiculed.

That's a fair question to ask. The orginal question has been answered - so now it's time to have a bit of fun.

Let's think this through.

Assuming that the car being referenced in the OP was "altered" by the owner in an attempt to fool others into thinking he has an "AMG 35"

The owner surely knows that is not the case. Who would this person be trying to impress? Other M-B owners? Real car enthusiats? The only people who might actually take notice of such badging would be the people who know that he is a fraud!

I doubt that many chicks would care whether or not the car was an "AMG" model so it's doubtful that it's getting him laid.

At no point did I espouse the opinion that he couldn't do anything he wanted to do with his car. He could put on a huge picnic-table sized wing on it if he wants to. As you correctly pointed out - whatever makes him happy is fine.

It's just that IMO he is inviting ridicule with the poser badging.

I'll chime in... I got my car from Park Place only because Ewing didn't have any E350s with the AMG Sport Package. The buying experience was horrible and they took me for a fool, saying to my face "maybe you should be looking at a more affordable car" when I told them that their $1200/month quote to lease an E350 was criminal. I'm all about customer service, and it's just insane to make such a suggestion to a potential client. I walked out and came back only when they agreed to $7000 off sticker and a really good money factor. Then the first service comes up and Park Place wants $400 for the same service that I did at Ewing for $190. Some might be swayed by the pretty fountain and miles of travertine at Park Place, but underneath the operation sucks. I'd never buy from them again.

As for events, the only thing I've done was a day on the track at Motorsport Ranch with a couple other W211 E-Class guys from this board. It was one of the best times I have ever had.

I sense a phone call might be coming.... when I criticized PP on this forum it got back to them very quickly. Someone got chewed by their manager and then I got the awkard call saying why did you post what I did, simple - it was the truth. Everyone's experience in each department is different, no experience with the sales guys but service dept is great.

Isn't it about time you got a race car as well? Mine is almost finished and in the paint shop right now - March 17th is another MSR track day and March 31st is race #3 for this rookie I'll be at the track on March 17th, just not with the MB - therefore I didn't start a thread. Everyone feel free to sign up though, it's a blast! - www.apexdrivingacademy.com

They're more than welcome to call me. My salesman was fine and I like my service advisor, but I didn't like the finance guy or the way they handled the negotiations. I guess too many people with more money than sense from the Park Cities go in and spend $5000 more on a car there vs. another dealer because they're too lazy to drive 15 miles. I ran into the same thing with BMW dealers here, and now I'll only go to Autobahn in Ft. Worth (Moritz in Arlington is also good) rather than Classic or BMW of Dallas (both are lousy in sales from my experience, though good with service). My business is 90% by referral so I know the importance of treating clients right, and I've already sent Ewing 3 referrals and a couple to Autobahn BMW. It pays to keep it professional and not play the slick sales game. Park Place's exorbitant service prices are another story.

I'd love to have a dedicated track car and wish I had more time to get out Motorsport Ranch. I have the 6-speed 335i Cabrio coming in late April but need to break it in for a little while before torturing it on the track. Post some pics after the upcoming event!

Don't forget to add CDI to that while you are at it . We've been waiting a while for a CDI 4Matic. It's about time we got one!

This is like the other day I saw a Mercedes S50 AMG in the parking lot at the grocery store. Who do they think they are kidding?
