Does anyone have a problem with radio reception with the H&K stereo?
Hi:
I was wondering whether anyone experieces "cutout" when listening to AM radio in their W211. I have a 2006 E350 - 4MATIC and when I listen to AM radio it seems to crackle and cutout. I am wondering if the radio was not designed for AM and is chopping off the highs and lows in AM reception. I had this problem with my '05 also. They have replaced the center speaker on the '06 and it is still there. It clearly comes from the center front speaker.

My car is an '06 and this fix seems to be through the '05 model year. I will still mention it to service as my car is on the back end of getting fixed from an accident November 20. This has been the longest 2 months of my life driving Enterprise rentals.

Mention DTB P-B-82.62/537 OCT06 – Center fill speaker in instrument panel whirs/clatters / sound distorted. This may be due to vibration in the flap mechanism of the upper defroster outlet or its cover. This distortion noise is especially detected when listening to music or voice with high pitch on a telephone conversation or a news broadcast - resolved by installing felt strips and foam.
