airmatic and the sport mode

Hey everyone

I have an 03 E500 with the airmatic suspension. I have had the car lowered. My mechanic did it with his laptop. But my question is, When you put the car in the sport setting does the car get lower? Also I notice that everytime I exit the freeway the car rises up, How can I get it not to raise?

I hate the star lowering.
Yes, the car does lower a smidge more in Sport I/II modes. I dunno why it raises when it leave the highway.

Is it better to replace the rods for the suspension?

The car lowers itself by 0.6" if it's in either "Sport" setting, or at speeds over 68 MPH. So, if you're in the "Comfort" setting and you would like to keep the car lowered at speeds under 68 MPH, put it in either "Sport" setting. I'm amazed that anyone can detect a 0.6" difference in ride height, though. I can't.

Though, interestingly, when parked if you press the "raise" switch to the left the raising is clearly noticeable.
I've done this in order to get a floor jack under the car. However, this may be a different height and totally
unrelated to the 2 settings you mention DWP.

The "raise" takes it up a full 1", and I can easily see (and hear) it going up. I sometimes raise it when I have to open the door by a high curb. I've tried putting it in "Sport 1" from "Comfort" while I'm standing outside with the car idling, but haven't noticed any lowering. Maybe the car has to be moving.

if in the car and I press the raise button, I can see it raise, and can also see it lower when I hit the raise button again to lower it... when I go in to sport 1 or 2 I can notice that the car sits lower... from outside the vehicle... I have never stood outside while doing the lowering
