Navigation Question
Searched the boards without any success.
Anyway!
I have a 2004 W211 and lately i've been thinking about getting the navigation option in the center console activated. So what would i need? It has the Navigation button but when i push it, it just gives me an error message like i need a DVD or something along those lines. Can i just purchase a DVD stick it in the center console and it will work? Or do i need to by an extra bit of machinery to make it work successfully?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I also have a MB star bulletin PDF of how to install the navi drive, it's similar to this thread, but unnecessarily more complex(as it's for MB techs I believe)

The COMAND in the dash, is NOT the NAV unit. (The radio isnt even there.) Its a screen which displays info sent to it by all the other components installed elsewhere in the car. Neither is the slot in it for the NAV dvd. To make the "NAV work", one must be installed in the car. They are installed in the trunk, left side as you look in, behind the fabric covered inner liner which is included in the NAV kit so that it has an access door to get to the DVD drive.

I installed Nav on my E500 Wagon this week using the Steph280 instructions. The total cost was about $650 and it took one hour - easy instal.
