E320 CDI or R320 CDI Help!!

A couple of questions on the R320. I currently have an E320 CDI '06 w/2900 mi and thinking of trading or selling and getting an R320 CDI. Does the R320 sit higher than the E when driving? If so, do you know by approx. how much? Do you think it is a wise decision to switch to the R from the E? I was thinking the E is better because it has been in production longer and is built in Germany. What do you think?

Anybody have any suggestions on how to get a good deal and trade in my E for an R? My E is only 9 months old and loaded. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've got both but of the 500 flavor not CDI. I can say without a doubt that the R is a much, MUCH better riding car. It's so much bigger plus my E is lowered and that definately adds to the reason they feel light years apart as far as ride quality. And yes, the R rides much higher but I'm not exactly sure by how much. Here's mine

You basically have to ask yourself a couple of questions.
  1. Do you need seating for more than 4?
  2. Do you prefer a more plush or more sporty ride?
  3. Is 4Matic a requirement?
  4. Can you see past the "mini-van" type looks of the R?

I drove my wife's R today due to inclement weather in our area. I told her when I got home that her car just feels so much better than mine. Granted, her's is new and mine is a 2004 with 45K miles. But so far, I'm loving her R

Apparently, a brand new R320CDI just blew up in someone's driveway. It's quite a read.

E-Class resale isn't very impressive, so I think the cost of you getting out of the E to get into the R won't be remotely worth it. Then you're in a vehicle that 9 of 10 Mercedes owners (at least the ones I know) think is ugly. I personally can't stand it and don't know why they made it when they already have the E, E Wagon, ML & GL. Just my $.02. I think that the R-Class will be tough for resale down the road. My salesman said they "can't give them away."
