Does this navigation system look like a legit item to buy. Would I need anything else besides buying just this unit. Thanks.

This is just the COMAND head unit. You would still need the NAV drive in the trunk along with the GPS stuff too.

 

Anyone have any ideas on what I could do for NAV in my E500.

 

It can be installed check out MBENZNL.com (Also the head unit pictured is NOT an American Market Head Unit, but many people have had European H.U.'s installed & love them)

I installed Nav in the E500 Wagon for about $600 including a new trunk liner. I can post prices for individual parts if you would like..

Thats a good price for the Euro unit. They had been going for 1,000.00 for just the unit. Make sure you use paypal and a creditcard in case you have a problem.

1) Check with MB dealer if the parts will fit your car before ordering. I ordered the parts for 2005 E500 Wagon.

2) The DVD processor was bough on eBay as a rebuild (factory sealed in box) . According to my research the following part numbers will work in W211. 220-870-35-89 is the latest model, but the older ones will work.

4) I ordered 210-820-24-89 GPS Antenna splitter but received 6-7-82-3111. Also, ordered 211-545-54-40 Upper bracket, but received 211-545-79-40. I don’t know if the later part numbers are newer replacements or parts specific to the Wagon. Again, check these for your VIN before ordering.

5) Navigation Software DVD part numbers. Ebay prices vary from $15 to $150 depending on version.
