Height Issue

Here are a few pics of my car at an unusually high height. I bought it used in July but never bothered to ask you guys about why it might sit the way it does. The previous owner replaced stock springs with Eibachs. It's wierd, I compared it to my aunts E and hers sits lower than mine and she doesn't even have the airmatic suspension. What can be the problem? Solution?

Thanks,

Todd

Yikes! I wonder if they installed the correct springs or spring pads? My coworker has the non-sport model and it's no where as high as yours.

As far as my wheels and tires go, they're fine. They're 18" AMG wheels. My friend said something about adjustable shocks. Is there such a thing? Is my only option to buy new springs?

I Would Inspect the (INSTALL) of the springs that were installed...Springs seated and or Pads installed correct?
IF it has lower springs installed then there is a problem...

Where are you in So Cal? I can recommend a shop if Interested?

What is the tire size - as in what does it say on the sidewall? Those tires don't look right in the picture.

Tires are 265/35 in rear and 245/40 in front. Is lowering via star diagnostic only for cars with the airmatic suspension can it also be done on standard suspension.

You have the right tires. Lowering via star is only for airmatic. I don't know what's up those springs, something is not right with them. Installed wrong or wrong springs is my guess.

I don't know what to do. I want to have it checked out, but don't want to take to some crappy place where the guy doesn't know what he's doing. Any suggestions in the L.A. area preferably in Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena area ?

Thanks,

Todd

Check to see if the previous owner switched to coilovers, there may not even be any available for the E, what do I know, but its the only thing that comes to mind. If it has coilovers, then they should be adjustable and you can lower it by dialing a lower setting. Just a thought.... it certainly does not look right, so there has got be be something there.

Cheers

Edward
