Decision Help 06 E320 CDI

Hi Gang,

I need your honest opinion. Would you trade or sell your 06 E320 CDI for an 07 R320 CDI? My E has 3100 miles on it and I just lowered the price on Autotrader to 49,500. I had it originally priced at 51,750 but got no calls. I am thinking of switching to the R320 since MB is offering 2.9% financing and I can get a lower payment for 72 months.

On the R320, what is a good price to pay and where can I get the best deal on an R320 with the following options:

Prem Pkg 3
Heated Fr Seat
Heated Rr Seat
Chrome Pkg
Ligthing Pkg
Air Suspension
Voice Recognition
Hands Free Comm. MHI Cradle

Does anyone know where I can get the best price (at or below invoice) along with the 2.9 on this R320? I need to make a decision but I'm floundering because I have read that some people think the inline 6 is a better engine than the new V6 CDI. Please offer your comments, suggestions, opinions. Thank you very much.

I'm a little confused. Your BIO shows a 2005 CDI, you are referencing a 2006 CDI, and you really expect to come out better by getting out of your 3100 mile 2006 CDI and getting into a loaded 2007 R CDI? I wish this looked good, but no I do not believe it can be so. And since when does MBUSA offer 2.9% for 72 mos? I would love to see that deal offered!!

You'd probably get better price info on the R board.

The R is a sales dog and I believe the discounts reflect that.

- I would not take a bath on my CDI for a lower 'payment'; in the end you will be spending a lot more over those 72 months.

- I would not hesitate to trade for a V6 CDI; the in-line 6 is a great motor, and so is the V6.

- Personally, I have no use for an R-class, and find them unattractive. And if I suddenly had a family of six and needed an R-class, I don't think I'd get the diesel...I doubt it's well matched to the heavy R- (and GL-) class.

2007 R320 CDI
Hello Randy, Yes I do have an 06 loaded E320 CDI with 3100 miles and yes it is true that MB dealers at least in my area (Philadelphia) are offering 2.9% on select models (R320 is one) for 72 months. I wanted to see if anyone could give me advice on selling the E and purchasing the R at a low price due to the sales being down on the R series. Thanks for your response.

Hi TPAbnz, do you know of any sales figures on the R that I can get hold of? I want to use this as negotiating power when/if I go for the R. Also, that R forum is dead...nobody ever seems to go there...maybe it's a sign of the sales slump for the R...who knows!!!!!
