CR Auto Issue 2007
Am I one of the few people who respond to their request for product info every year with praise for Volvo, GE, Sony but, they still get poor marks?
I have done my homework and many, many times gone against their recommendations and been extremely happy with my choices.
This can't simply be good luck!
What's your opinion?

I have had a subscription to CR for a few years now and I think this will be my last year. I don't know if the ratings are off or I just have a different set of criteria that I rate a product by. I have had more than one product that they rate poorly and they have been great for me.
As far as this auto issue, it seemed pretty predictable. Although, I wasn't expecting Mercedes to do SO poorly. Cars that have been bulletproof for me were rated poorly. Case in point, I owned a 2004 Acura MDX that they rate highly and of all the cars I have owned, it was in the shop the most and had the poorest build quality. Sometimes you just get a bad one in the bunch.
I certainly wouldn't buy a product based just on their review, that's for sure.

you are right -i have been wondering for a while that they are pro Honda and clearly biased against MB
