How does one loose their owner’s manual.

If not, the engine oil level is checked using the operating system. http://www4.mercedes-benz.com/e/cars...73.html#N2355E More detail; Operation; Engine compartment; Engine oil

You need to post which W211 you got and the MY. Or better yet; put it under your avatar. That way, on future questions, members can better respond to you. There are differences afterall.

2005 C Wagon (No snickering please!)
Dipsick? How quaint.
There is a liquid level sensor in the oil pan that will report go/no go in the owner's mode screen. There is a service mode that can display the amount in the crankcase in liters. Ask your dealer how to enter the service mode.
07's have seen the return of the dipstick because MBUSA was spending too much time fielding calls asking "Where is the dipstick?"

Is it a mythical beast, a letterhead, or the bottom of the spring leaf when you lower your car and paint the grill black?

No button to measure oil level in an '07. Can't adjust how long you want the lights to stay on after you exit the car either... just do you want them to or not. Many fewer choices in an 07... Simplification. I'm all for it if everything that IS in the car continues to work as the engineers hoped it would. So far so good.
...Except that the Satellite radio STILL years later lapses into displaying "Searching For Signal" on the Comand while the DIC says "GOLD" & the music plays on. Hey. I've got a solution that doesn't involve writing any code. Have the screen display output destined for the dash go to the Comand! Or just press MAP then SAT and the error is cleared. Is that an MB error or a Delphi error?
I don't care. Its still a good car and I love it.

Radio playing
The Sat signal is buffered into the radio. It might have 10-15 seconds of buffer, just to prevent losing sound when going under an obstacle. You could actually lose the signal, the radio keeps playing, using up the buffer, then regain the signal with no loss of radio. I do think that when the signal is lost it does display it accurately. Or.....it could be a glitch.

The Buffer is 6 seconds long.
