Light switch lit?
Hi all,
Is the light switch lit, i.e. in the dark, should I be able to see the symbols for "Off", "Auto", "On", etc?
On my car I cannot, as I found yesterday, and that is ninconvenient: I really missed it. I suspect a dead/uninstalled bulb. If so, not good, as it means another day in the shop at some stage (every repair, no matter how trivial, always involves leaving my cvar for a day)![Frown](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)

Still hoping that one of you....
....can just check your car in the dark and tell me what you see. Is the light switch area lit and can you see whether it is set to off/auto/park/on, or can you not see this in the dark (like on my car)?

Unlit
This must be another example of cost cutting to bring the E price down. In fact, the markers aroung the light knob (e.g. "on" "auto" etc) are not illuminated. The arrow on the knob is illuminated, however, and I believe fog lamps have an illuminated marker, but that's it.

Ah, so it is not me
Well, I noticed the other night and saw it as an oversight - had to turn on the interior lighting to verify. What use is lighting a knob if you cannot see what you are setting it to? Most curious.

That's amazing to me...
...that in such a luxurious car that M-B would overlook this! Certainly the car's engineering is beyond reproach - I wonder what they were thinking (I would not think cost was the real factor).
I agree that it probably was just an oversight... but an irritating one at that!
