E550 idle trembling

My new E550 has started to tremble a little when idle or in reverse. It is most notable when you first start it or in a trafic light. Some of the time is barelly noticeable and others you can really feel it.

What do you think it is. The car has only 1500 miles.

Could it be dirty gas?

That's how our E350 engine is too...which is the same basic engine design as the 550 minus two cylinders. Sometimes it's smooth as silk and you can't feel the engine at all, sometimes it 'trembles' quite a bit We always use Shell V-Power from the same gas station so I dont know if the gas has to do with it or not....

Thanks for taking an interest.

When going forward from a trafic light, the car tremble is notable, it feels as if brake pads were a little stuck, I even thought this was the case unil I felt it when idle.

When idle sometimes it feels more than others and has nothing to do with a patern like cold or hot engine. Or air conditioning on or off.

When reversing the same effect as when going forward exept it feels a little more.

I always fill up the tank with Exxon, fill up when almost on reserve.

Hope this helps to get more ideas

Do you use premium gas(at least 91 octane)?

Trembling at idle I can only say its not normal. Like the previous post say what grade of gas did you fill it up with. Have the dealer check it out

Dirty Fuel Injectors

The Service Center just gave me the car back, it ended up being dirty fuel injectors. The car is now new again.

They also suggested I put in a fuel aditive every two tanks (something I have never done in any of my previous Mercedes)

It is Mercedes Benz Fuel aditive Keropur 3131 S45 N.
MB Part number A 000 989 25 45 12

I would try a few tankfuls of another brand, and see if you notice any improvement. Of course, use the highest octane you can find. Do the fueling stations where you live have a good fresh supply of Premium grade? I can't believe your injectors would be fouled in only 1500 miles unless there is something wrong with your gasoline.

Your injectors didn't get "naturally" fouled. You are buying dirty or contaminated gas. Change stations.
