The newest COMMAND - What did you do?
I am currently driving a 06 w211, and would like to see where you guys are updating your COMMAND from? I dont want to goto MBUSA and buy from them becasue it will be thousands I am sure. I want to spend no more than 1000, and have the most updated COMMAND that plays dvds and mp3's. Any suggestions?
P.S I am willing to sell my command on my car with 6k miles. I dont need the old command once I update to the newest. Any ideas?

Umm.. The command in our 06 is identical to the 07... It plays MP3 CD's and the 06 with nav will play MP3 DVD's if you put it in the NAV drive.
To get movies to play you have to get the command sent out to a private company to unlock that junk.

Thanks for the input. I need my command to do mp3, nav, sat, dvd. I cant seem to find one that does it all. I found one thats dvd/mp3 but wont do satelite radio.

That is UNTRUE! There are certian "people that do it" and say you have to send it to them for it to be unlocked. I unlocked mine without sending it away. Its all a ploy to make $$$ off you.

Does the command that play the dvds also have the capability to have Satelite radio? I have sirius and love it.

YOUR Command will do Sat IF you install the sat receiver in the trunk AND install the Sat antenna on your rear trunklid AND remove/reinstall all your interior to run the cable from receiver to Command (this on '06 only) AND then subscribe to Sirius.

Its best if you dont have the ipod kit installed just to buy an after market Sat receiver and hook it in using the AUX input. At least I prefer it that way since I prefer the after market receivers especially the portable ones so you can take it in your house or another car.

Just need a confirmation. I have tried to use a DVD of mp3 songs inside the COMAND cd slot and in the changer with no luck. Is it true that I can put the DVD full of mp3s inside the NAV DVD slot to play my mp3s? I also tried to stick a DVD movie in there only to verify that it doesn't work.
