Airbag/steering wheel

Hi!

Help! The topcoat on my w211 steering wheel has chipped in one small area, exposing the black plastic underneath!

Wondering if anyone has faced a similar problem?? How best to fix/repair?

If anyone has an airbag for sale, let me know! My email is sheikhg@gmail.com

A custom upholstery shop can touch that up for you with some dye. I had a minor thing like that fixed by a very good pinstriper who mixed up a dab of paint in a paper cup & used a very fine brush. You really don't need to replace that airbag cover!

In addition you can call your local dealer(s) to see who they use for minor interior repairs. If you’re on good terms with your SA, given the minimal damage, they may approve a goodwill repair. DIY alternative:

It is amazing what some of the detail shops can fix. From tears & scratches in leather to even cracks in dashes. Just ask around at local car dealerships to find out who reconditions their used cars. Once you find someone good, you won't ever know it was chipped. Looks like you're like me, the smallest dings & scratches absolutely drive me crazy & I can't quit thinking about them until I get them fixed.
