Cost to Replace Airmatic Air Pump?

Just brought my car in and found out the air pump for the suspension is out. Wondering if any of you have had that problem and how much it cost to repair? Thanks (03 E320 Sport)

Looks like he wants 350.00 for the pump.

Not to second guess the initial finding however, you may want to mention DTB P-B-32.22/15a FEB07 Vehicle level decreases at front axle. In extreme cases the Airmatic compressor will not activate to raise the vehicle. It is not defective. The compressor is not actuated due to insufficient residual pressure in the suspension struts. Any affected struts will be replaced and the compressor will be actuated with STAR Diagnosis.

Actually the applicable complaint for this DTB is low ride height after the vehicle has been parked at cold temperatures. A cooperative dealership may perform the repair at no out of pocket cost.

Worth a shot...

Well my car is out of warranty so I'm sh**t out of luck really.
Plus it is 90 degrees here in TX so that doesn't exactly seem like the same problem. I got a nice "visit workshop" also. Cost me 615 to fix.

Here’s the thing. Up to VIN A255298 strut failure has been a known issue documented by this DTB (under warranty or not) and in some cases this type failure causes the compressor not to activate. In effect if presented appropriately you may be entitled to free repair if it is found that a strut needs to be replaced and, rather than replacing, the compressor simply needs to be actuated. BTW the “temperature mention with wink” and “cooperative dealership” remarks were an indication of potential opportunity. Long shot, possibly. However, a mention may be worth your while. On the other hand their call may be accurate and the compressor does need replacing – either way it’s your call.

hmm, well I've already paid to have it repaired and it was not at a dealership. Maybe I can get them to refund it. My VIN is A193697 so I'm guessing that would be in the parameters? MB Austin has terrible service so it is doubtful

On my 2003 E-500 I just noticed the passenger side front fender is almost touching the tire. I go to back out of the garage and I get a red warning message "car is to low". I wonder if I have this problem.
