Looking back, I can’t remember ONE time when I had a problem relating to
“first production.”

But, in no way do I disparage those who have this concern. We are
individuals with different “hot buttons.”

Doubtless I‘m in the minority; but, I have (shamelessly) admitted, to all,
that a new car purchase - for me - is greatly for “ego satisfaction.” Having
the newest and greatest! (I don’t flaunt it .. just “feel” it.)

SO .. having the newest isn’t ALL for public show. I LOVE great electronics
where pushing a button does facinating things! And, new transmissions,
new engines, new suspension, etc, etc. New, different, better! New!

Of course my crazy desires aren’t cost effective. So, if a buyer’s primary
interests are practicality and durability, he wouldn’t want to replicate me.

Now I call that a honest post Jim. You state exactly why you want what you want and have no shame about it.

If I were rich like you guys I'd have the first new Benz off the boat everytime a new model comes out.

Of course, the dealers say that there won’t be ANY
change. They want to sell their 07’s. I would agree
there won’t be MUCH. But, surly “something!”

I did Google “E350 Saks Fifth Avenue” but all I got was
mostly text.

Several guys on here have referred to this edition.

I’d love to see pics of it. Just what is different about it?

Jimm I should of wrote google "Mercedes E350 Saks" lots of articles and photos will show up on google. I just googled it myself. Also there are several photos of the E Saks on this forum. Just go to the search button on this forum and type Saks E350 and you will see a number of photos.

Jimm, there is an 07 E Saks Edition on Ebay with 1038 miles on it. The owners say they bought it on a whim (just like I did) They say they need to cut back on bills and want to sell it for $53,800 I bet someone could get it for a lot less. I doubt you will find a new E Saks as they all sold out quick. I believe they made 1000 of them. I am not not trying to talk you into a E Saks. It only came in black and black is not a good color for a lot of folks but when its cleaned up, it looks like a million bucks!

I am going to start leasing my cars for no more than 18 months because that is usually how long it takes for me to get tired of them. I've had my E for 3 years now and it does nothing for me anymore. Just sits in the garage. I would rather drive my Prius or the wifes wagon than pull the E out of the garage.

I would have leased a Bluetec if I did not drive 40k miles/year. What the heck, any MB is better than no MB. My Bluetec arrives this week. When the new 2009 (or whatever year) model has its kinks resolved, I'll trade this one in. Its too far in the future for me to think; I need to enjoy the Bluetec first.

Active Bi-Xenon Headlamps standard
Split folding rear seats is standard

Full Canadian Specs are attached below.
Thanks for that!

Where did you get it from? and do you have any more info?

[QUOTE=jimm;2227526]Looking back, I can’t remember ONE time when I had a problem relating to

I totaly agree. I was one of the first to drive '03 CTS which I traded later for my '04 E500; I bought first year production XC90 in 2003 which I traded for Audi Q7 last year (first year production too). and to tell you the truth I never had any major issues with any one of the above cars; and probably the only upgrade I added was the bluetooth to my E500 two months ago.
I'm looking forward to trade my E for the first year production '10 E-class; and you may call it an "ego satisfaction" thing.
