Rear Brake Squel
Anybody getting a rear brake squel? I have 4500 miles on a 07 W211 and all of the sudden i get this squel coming from the rear at speeds between 15-35 mph when breaking in DC rush hour traffic. I had the same issue with my old C230K and they said it was nothing. Do i need to have some brake paste applied to the rears?
Thanks,
Thanks,

A field rep who recently retired said if there was any one thing that stood out as most complained about it in his career it was brake squeal. Anyway, paste will quiet them down for a while but not long term. The good news is you’re entitled to new brake pads and rotors to resolve squealing at no out of pocket cost (FYI: wheel alignment and road force balancing to all four tires too) for the first 12 months/12,000 miles – MBUSA pays. This too may not be a definite fix long term nevertheless that much more mileage is gained before replacement is needed at cost. I understand Porterfield pads may provide for a long term solution to both squeal and dust accumulation afterward.

I'm about 90% sure... windows down and roof open comes from my right rear.. i guess it will not hurt to bring it in for a check at 5k miles...

i've read every forum about squeeky brakes,, and they say "it's inevitable".... "it comes and goes" ...one guy said use a high presure water spray on em'... i put brake paste, and i still hear it every now and then..
