Hey everyone
Anyone have this problem fixed: transmission bucking at low speeds (5-10 mph), downshifting, upshifting hard, all at low speeds like in traffic? I’ve taken my car to the dealer several times for this problem, and they can never duplicate the problem always: “complaint not verified” had the dealer check for antifreeze contamination, claimed its ok. Had the dealer power flush trans and torque converter, replace fluid and filter, and the car is still bucking around etc. going back to the dealer Wednesday. This low speed crap is embarrassing and really getting on my nerves.

I had this very same problem with my ’03 211. Bulletin P-B-07.00/28f - FEB04 “Engine Control Unit Software Update” solved it for me. Ask your SA to pull up this bulletin, might have been revised since then nevertheless updating the ECU software to the latest flash may solve your problem. Note that this DTB was initially released to specifically address hesitation (i.e.: jerking as if driver depresses accelerator and gas pedal at the same time) type condition. Quite possibly the jerking condition you are experiencing.
In the mean time you can try manually resetting your ECU this may or may not solve your problem temporarily:
- Turn the ignition to the on position
- Press the accelerator pedal to the floor and hold for 5 to 10 seconds
- Without releasing the accelerator turn the ignition off (do not remove key), then release the accelerator
- Wait about 2 – 3 minutes for the ECU to reset

Our 2004 E200 CDI has the same problems, it's been to the dealer a couple of times and they replaced the transmission fluid, but it didn't help. They now ran a couple of test on the car and are going to replace or reset the ECU and software...hope it's going to help...

If any 211.022 BlueTec owners are reading this thread the following DTB was released to address transmission upshifts:
P-B-27.00/87b FEB07 If you are experiencing transmission flare between first and second gear and third gear when cold or from the first several shifts of the day the CDI control module software will be updated (11/06 software with patch 2006-11-280657).
