A “Datacard” for your vehicle should be supplied with every new delivery however; if you do not have a copy (i.e.: purchased used) I or any MB dealer can readily supply a print out free of charge. Basically equipment and paint codes, engine and transmission #s, order #, and delivery date. View sample:
Sweet !!

Is this a part of the VMI? is it possible to obtain the VMI for a vehicle from any MB dealership outlining the service and campaign/recall history so you can see exactly what has been done and when?
Newbie
Thank you. PM sent. Datacard received.

Thank you very much ,I'm sure I speak for everyone here when I say your help to all of us is invaluable. These cars we've involved ourselves with are complex, and it's great to know we have an selfish person such as yourself to turn those complexities into something we can understand. Thanks again!!

Yep, Konigs has got to be about the most SELFISH person on this board!

The Datacard is just that, data about your particular vehicle from the assembly line. You can contact any MB dealership service dept. and they should supply recall/service campaign/repair/maintenance history of your vehicle, just have your VIN handy.Originally Posted by WEBSRFR

FYI:
Did some checking and I’m told that MBUSA (1-800-367-6372) will send you a copy of the original MSRP window invoice/sticker inclusive of optional equipment listing, etc. If you encounter any problems let me know. I personally know of someone who retrieved a copy for their ’88 SL a few months back.

That's very interesting re that yr KT, because back in Feb I ordered one for my '04 E320 and when I called back a few weeks later they told me it was NLA for that year. Originally Posted by konigstiger

Instead, they mailed me a pdf of a "dealer invoice" copy which was quite a bit different from a window sticker. (and was somwhat incomplete on the options)
Certainly doesn't hurt to give them a call though.
