Purchasing new 2008 E-Class
I see according to some posts here that you can already order them? How does that work, I haven't seen any information about them on Mercedes' site.
Also, what has changed in the 08's?
Thanks and sorry if these are dumb questions.

I have a pre-arranged deal based on whatever the Invoice is. I doubt it will be much, if any higher than the '07 prices so I know pretty well what to expect.
I think it's fair to assume that other than a couple of colors, not much has changed on U.S. cars between the 07's and 08's.
Derek ALREADY has confirmation that his car was built.
Yet, NO MB dealer I’ve called knows “ANYTHING” about
the 08s. I called - randomly - the Miami MB sales Dept.
yesterday and they didn’t even know the ‘08 production
had started .. let alone any changes!
This dealer ignorance is astounding!

However, Canadian dealers have had the specs for all 2008 E Class for some two months now, but no pricing as yet.
But, the trend for all 2008 E Class destined for Canada is more options included as standard equipment.
With the appreciation of the Canadian dollar over the past six months, we are expecting no change in price, just more goodies for the same price.
Are you a MB dealer? Do you know of any changes ... or, as
a Dealer can you find out and let us know? Please advise us.

I'm ordering a new car for the first time and I'm pretty wired about getting a car that's exactly the way I want it and that's absolutely fresh. It won't have been driven by anyone else. It'll be clean. It'll have all the latest engineering changes installed. It'll be the latest model year with better resale value than an '07 and it'll be loaded with gadgets I'd almost never get otherwise.
Since I buy a new car about once a millennium, waiting a couple of months isn't much of a problem for me.
If I ever get around to replacing my '91 300E, I may order that as well. I'm thinking about going to Munich next year for a Euro Delivery on a new 328i. If only I could get my wife to fly, I'd have a shot at it
The 2008's will be released on July 16th. pricing about two weeeks prior. MB loves the suspense. I expect very minimal if any $ difference. The 2008 chasis was allocated last month, so the dealer in Miami is a bit sleepy.
The only car that (as far as I know) is identical in 08 as 07 is the Bluetec, I've heard that no sport package whatsoever will be available.
(and NO adBlue either ! The 08 Bluetec gets some additional equipment as standard: HK Logic 7 sound system, Cell Phone Prep, Siruis Sat Radio, Trunk Pass-through w/Ski Sack and Split Folding Rear Seats. For 07, the HK system was $1500 extra, the Cell Phone prep was $850 and Sat Radio would have been approx. $600 had it been available. So, about $3000 worth of extras as standard for the 08 Bluetec.
Also, the Canadian Premium Package for E320 Bluetec now includes Parktronic, Command w/Navigation, Rear Window Sunshade and Electronic Trunk Closure. Electronic Trunk Closure was a $750 option for 07 over and above the Premium Package !!
In addition to the above, the 08 E350 Sport gets Heated Rear Seats as standard and Keyless Go becomes part of the Premium Package. For 08, there will be only one version of the E350 4Matic in Canada and that will be the Sport Version.
With the appreciating Canadian dollar v's Euro, it appears that MB Canada is trying to narrow the pricing gap between US and Canadian versions by upgrading the content of the Canadian models.
No doubt you could trade the stock E350 alloys for the E63 AMG type; it's all a matter of how much you want to spend.
If you are on the northshore, send me a PM and I will recommend a contact person.
