Help! Flashing Fog lamps??

Hi guys,
need some help. when i lock the car via the fob control the fog light and rear lights start flashing.

Also if i lock and then unlock the car without opening any doors the siren will go off.

anyone have this happen to them before? Is it a dying battery or is it more of a wiring problem with the alarm.

car is '03 E500

thanks

If I remember correctly the 03 lights flash to signal alarm activation with no audible signal. Any problems you are experiencing may be caused by the rear SAM.

Service Campaign 2005100009 NOV05 / 211.070 (e500) VIN range A042945 – A159996. They will check the rear Signal Acquisition Module (SAM) and replace if necessary. Covered at no out of pocket cost even if you are out of warranty (48 months / 50,000 miles whichever comes first). Best bet, call a local MB dealer and have them check VMI to confirm if your VIN is included in this campaign.

If your vehicle does not fall within the VIN range mentioned you can mention DTB P-B-54.21/134 JAN05 and the rear SAM will be replaced if needed.
