Maybe that explains why we have the delay. Very sophisticated.

Do you think the US will get all these features. Seems like some things like DVD player / TV Tuner in the front maybe illegal in the US?

DVD player / TV Tuner in the front IS illegal in the US

you are right, it is illegal in US unless mb comes out a comand with a detector that only plays DVD/TV while your gear is in "Parking".

Otto,

You are right, that would be nice if they detected 'Park' and allowed you to play DVDs...and if they are really good, they would also tie it into the solar panel (if you have them) so that they could run the unit from the panels when you are parked with car off, so you don't drain the battery. My Honda Odyssey mini-van will shut off the navi system after 5 minutes or so, if the car is not running so the battery won't die.

"352 comand with nav" is available in 2003

my sales told me the nav will be in a new car when it is delivered on 1/2/2003. the only issue is they have to take out the tape player in order to place comand (****pit MANager and Data system).

there is a picture in mbspy for comand II

http://mbspy.bacosys.be/comand.htm

it is highly possible that the tv function will be disabled in US but

http://www.nav-tv.com/products-mercedes-navtv.htm

anyway, i cannot watch such a small tv while i am driving and i don't want to watch this small tv while i am not driving.

all nav use the inexpensive lcd instead of plasma to display data. the latter can offer a viewing angle of 160 degrees. for your eyes and life's sake, go home and watch hdtv.

TV in front fades when over 6 km/hr

Those of you who believe the TV function would be illegal in US note that even the European design provides for fading of the TV picture in front when the vehicle goes over 6 km/h, while still allowing the rear-seat monitor to be viewed. Wouldn't this answer any legality problems in the US too?

Also note - the US M Class accessories catalog has advertised video moniotors for passengers for some time mow.
