I think you bought the wrong car if you need more horsepower.

You won't find any intake or exhaust parts that will make a difference.

Mercedes are spectacular cars and these systems come very optimized.

Don't worry. I got grilled when I asked the same question awhile ago. Everyone said I should have just bought a 55 considering the amount of money I would have to put into increasing torque and hp.

Powerchip ECU reprogramming has seen its way around the forums. I do not have the product so I can not vouch for it but overall the comments have been very positive. I've looked into it and have received their "customized" brochure for the W211 E500 (attached below). They quote a HP gain from 302 to 323 on 93 octane and the torque goes from 339 to 362. You have to send your ECU to CA (I think in LA) for the reprogramming but it looks like you are local to that area so you could simply drive in and have it done on site. I think you should try it out with pre/post dyno runs and report back to your fellow E500 owners.

I don't mean to start this debate again, but do you know if this effects the warranty on the car?? ALSO, does anyone know if this effects the overall longterm stability of the engine, flywheel, etc.??

In both cases your warranty is intact unless the part caused a problem.

IE: New rims will not invalidate warranty on your dashboard lights, new steeringwheel will not invalidate warranty on your pistons, etc.

In regards to your warranty, since the software is both visually and electronically undetectable, and is based on your stock software, there's no way your warranty can be voided. Also, the only thing that can be voided on a warranty is something directed related to the defective part or a failure caused by the addition of a part. Since software never changes and every vehicle has a system that checks software before the car starts up, as long as the car starts, you're good to go for the life of the vehicle.

Let me know if you have any further questions. I'll be glad to help.
