Need Help - 2008 E-Class ordering question
All,
Hoping you folks can answer a question related to orders for MY08 E-Class.
I ordered on 6/1/07 an 08 E550 Flint Grey w/ Black & Cognac interior, sport pkg and P1. To date my dealer still has no information on build date or expected delivery timeframe
. I am hoping you guys can tell me if this is standard operating proceedure for MB and if there are any pointed questions I should ask or direction I can turn to get answers. I want to have this car in time for a trip I'm planning towards the end of August.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

If your dealer has no information on build date, he is either stalling on placing the order or not telling you the truth. As soon as an order is placed by a dealer with the factory, the dealer gets a "purchase order number" and the expected build date (likely the 2nd decade of the production month).
Ask your dealer for this info. If he is unwilling to provide it, I would suggest that you try another dealer.

Don’t want you to feel bad, but my 08 was ordered about a month ago.
It was built on June 4 - and arrived at the Jacksonville Port on June 21.
Supposed to be released from Jax Port any day now. (Maybe it already
has been.) Expecting a call from dealer “momentarily.”
