Whoever doubted MBZ crash worthiness may reconsider...
A friend/ex-coworker did this to his E350. It was a combination of alcohol and speed on a narrow road resulted in this little mishap. THANK GOD no one was killed...a couple of the occupants sustained some non-life threatening injuries but were glad that they were able to "walk" away from this accident. I guess I'll let the pictures speak for themselves as words truly escapes me.

He doesnt recall, it's a narrow residential street but he was drunk and going way too fast. He'll be doing time in the clink now since this is felony DUI. 6-12 months in prison now.
Apparently from what the passengers told me, he careened and hit the curb and then bounced off that and hit the SAAB on the other side of the street.
Kind of messed up but this accident happened on a Sunday and the Friday before, I was joking around about swapping wheels with him since he had the polished ones and I didn't get them. I guess if i did it wouldn't have mattered.

Wow, another Benz bites the dust and does its job at the same time. A Saab is a pretty safe car too, in fact one of the safer ones on the road. However getting hit by a flying Benz while stationary is another matter!

I've questioned various things about my E500 over the past four years, but I have never, ever, doubted its crashworthiness - due, in part, to pictures like the ones you posted. I recall maybe two years ago somebody linked to pictures of a 100 MPH W211 crash in Europe; the occupants survived.

I got T-boned 2 years ago in my car, hit right behind the drivers door, when I was making a left turn and the guy ran a red light. I walked away unharmed. I never doubted MB. All the correct airbags deployed perfecty. Crumple zone from the side was awesome - no metal ever penetrated the cabin (rear seat where my young daughter usually sits). Tele-Aid airbag deployment team was on the line before I even stopped moving. I want to thank MB for their dedication to engineering, testing, and satellite communications.
