What year model do you have? That might be useful information.

According to the (ahem) owner's manual for my '03, you push up on the head restraint adjustment switch until the head restraint is all the way up, and then just pull it out. To reinstall, push up on the same switch for about five seconds, then push the head restraint down until it engages.

Follow the procedure recommended by DWP. Also note the headrest is easiest removed by reclining the seat back down to its end position because this will give you increased leverage as it is not just a matter of simply pulling it out, but rather having to use force to get it out.

Does anyone know if this is the correct procedure for removing the headrest on an '08. My passenger headrest is rattling a bit on the Interstate.

You cannot remove front head restraints MY08 is equipped with active head restraints. Mention DTB P-B-91.10/170 for warranty repair – check your email.

Just managed to finally remove the headrest on passenger seat. I have electrically adjustable headrests. First thing to do is to lover the headrest all the way down. then you need to unscrew 2 screws at the back of the seat, right at the bottom so you can remove the back panel of the seat. Mine didnt come off fully as i have a lumbar support handle on the side, but i let me pull in to the side enough. then at the to you will see the mechanism that raises and lowers the headrest. it will be easier to see it if the headrest is fully down. you will also see the bars and the left one pulls out easily but the right one has like a half a spacer that attaches a wire to it so the wire doesn't wobble about. That spacer is what keeps the headrest from just pulling it out. after you remove the spacer the headrest will just slide out easily. I am yet to test if pulling the bars apart fixed the rattle.
